The Impossibility of Standardizing Color

Rossi characterizes attempts to standardize color as a fantasy. He says it's impossible to standardize colors even in the very local ways that one might, for instance, standardize a unit of measure. But there are booklets of standardized colors and standardized colored systems still used today. And so these systems, you know, whether these systems exist in nature, even at the time they were always suspect from purely scientific angle, but they all were provisionally.
