Monica Del Valle on Twitter wanted to know which towns became seaside holiday destinations. And did those towns choose to market themselves as such? Lots of them were not towns to begin with. They were small villages, sometimes quite far back from the sea. So you might get the local landowner who would see an opportunity and create this new place.
