Most of the inspiration for what becomes the formalized eugenic programms, racial hygiene, rats and hygiena in germany comes from America. Eugenics was already beginning to fall from favor in rica in the 19 thirties partly because it was becoming clear that the third rits, euthanasia and eugenics policies were were extremely bad. The nasy crime inspired by eugenics are often, they're often hailed as the death knell of eugenics. But you suggest in your book that that wasn't necessarily the case.
