Actresses get abad rep they're akin to prostitution. That's how they're thought of. But it seems to be something to do with public performance and giving pleasure to others, a public performance. Flating some one is utterly o in ancient rome, for a velit male. So yet agint thy're giving pleasure to other while not receiving it. Is complex. It must have been terrible to be an elite roman acaus you're constantly being judged on how you behave and how you act. And there's the notion of nothing in excess. You have to do things exactly right, not too little passion, not too much. Sex is ok, but not excessive.
