A Brief History of Beekeeping in Tajikistan

In 1991 Tajikistan slid into a five-year civil war, which cost 100,000 lives. Tensions have flared continually since with neighboring Kyrgyzstan. Among the pursuits of daily life that has suffered is beekeeping. Many people no longer able to feed and look after their bees. A community-minded conservation initiative is trying to revive the apierist craft. Cezantonia Bolingbrok Kent meets Hockimsho Holov in western Tajikistan.
