For the creative, our community of warriors, management is an ultimate challenge. I agree with you that it works against the natural flow of creatives to start managing things and trying to create chaos. So what is some of the psychology behind why management doesn't work? Well, so actually the research shows, if you put a clock directly in front of people and therefore raise their awareness of time, make the focus a lot more in time, they'll do more. They'll get more stuff done then, but it will be really uncreative work.
