In 1904, the City of St. Louis was planning to host an event called the Louisiana Purchase Centennial Exhibition. The International Olympic Committee was looking at different U.S. cities to hold the Olympics in in 1904. And after contemplating New York and Philadelphia, they awarded the Olympic Games to Chicago. This would be the third Olympic Games, but the city of St.Louis was not pleased. So it was actually a combined and turned into a world's fair. There will be exhibitions from 62 foreign countries. Oh, 43 states. Big, big, hoo-ha. Did you say 62? 62 foreign Countries. Wow. Really is a world's Fair. All this is going on
