The Importance of Mastery Based Learning in Competency Based Education
The successful use of competencies in the real world context is the ultimate goal of competency based education. So I've acquired these competencies but can I actually use them? And can I use them in a meaningful context? Is it applicable for me? Am I able to use it across context? This way a learner can pursue a credential by receiving credit for the competencies they already have and work to develop only those that they need. We often say, which portion of the competency is it okay not to have? Right? That's the same thing in competencybased education.
