How to Communicate With Your Team Effectively
I think I always try to strike a balance between telling teams like here's what's coming next but also potentially anticipating that things might change so you have to be specific but also a little bit vague at the same time not reveal timelines too much. Sales gets really excited and they want to try and go and sell something to the market but it's not ready yet, this is why you want to be careful about what you communicate with other teams. We need better ways of describing how long something's going to take because we're all on the same team in software engineering as an industry.
