The Theology of Divorce
I think with Jesus, the theological principles are Genesis two. There's an ideal for marriage and uphold it, you know, like it's important. You don't get divorced for just any reason, right? But also the principle at work there is Genesis three. So those two principles, there's the ideal and then there's the concession to the ideal. Certainly I don't think divorce should happen for a haphazard flip at reason or whatever that might be. It's actually when it's properly used, it's a mercy.
