Madman's Gallery - Is There a Painting That You Love?
A painting called the reply of the Zapparotian Cossacks to Sultan Mehmed IV was painted in 1880. It shows a group of these Cossacks who have just received this letter, find it utterly outrageous and get together quite drunkenly to write their own response. The scene is just wonderful because everyone is dying of Murth as they write the letter that begins, oh Sultan, Turkish devil and damn devil's kiss and kin companion to Lucifer himself, greetings.
