The Importance of Sanctification

Anything that's holy is holy by virtue of the fact that God has declared it to be holy. So we have sanctified, the very first occurrence of sanctified, happening at connection with time, the Sabbath day. This is the day that God has made holy, has brought into connection with himself because it is on this day that he rested. And then ever after that, when people are celebrating the Sabbath day, they're celebrating a holy day, a holy time. You have this continued and really expanded in the rest of the Old Testament to where you have other holy times,. such as Passover and Pentecost and Tabernacles.
