Is There Something Going on With Capitalism?

There's always something new going on in capitalism, particularly in terms of the uneven expansion and development of the world system as certain thresholds are reached. The open question now is whether financialization will continue to be a source of strength for American capitalism with this trend towards underinvestment. It seems pretty clearly to be linked to a certain form of shareholder control over the investment decision.
