High tech surveillance is a central feature of the security state that Xi Jinping is building. We've seen the extreme example of that in Xinjiang. I personally don't believe this is going away. Maybe they won't practice it quite as extreme. But didn't everybody have to sign up because of COVID essentially be on this app? Everybody everybody has to.
