The case purchase of FRC by JP Morgan is expected to cost the fund about $17 billion. The regulator has said it will cover at least some of the expenses incurred this year by increasing its fees collected from all banks. There's nearly $18 trillion in US deposits that, or the limit removed whether formally or just in practice, would be expected to insure and bail out.
