Using Small Molecules to Improve Quality Control

We don't have easy ways of getting large molecules into post-mitotic cells, like muscles or neurons. What we're focused on is not so much genetic engineering in the classic sense of putting genes into people. We think the way to do that is to use small molecules that can transiently upregulate these processes - just like cleaning your office once a year. There are thousands of mitochondrion cells that are digesting, essentially, food substances and could extended periods of fasting give them some relief for quality control.
