Ucranians have always considered themselves elves, even if they haven't had a political title to go along with it. And that's because its very basis, it's this choice of who you want to be and it's a choice of being free,. That's the basis of the ukranian nation, from the times of the cosa hetman until now. We kind of have this idea of being democratic, being autonomous, being free, being fighters. Ucranians are very proud of the values that they hold, which is important to say especially for russians in particular.
