Then APL, the New Programming Language
In the mid 90s, Ken Iverson decided to change his language from APL to J. He wrote 50,000 lines of a flight simulator program in J and that paid the bills. After teaching for several years, he got the bug to write code again. Dissect gives a visual two-dimensional display of a single line of code written in J. If it could be introduced to students at an early enough stage, we would have many more array programmers than we do now.
