The film relies too much on the spectacle of it all to really have an effective thematic exploration into what the incomprehensible means to us. We never actually get this feeling of like, oh, the world that they're in is kind of breaking. The audience i was with and i first watched it, ye, like when she suddenly explodes into this burst of light, and suddenly, ah, this weird stuff is shooting out of her mouth.
