The Philosophy of the Philosopher, and the Scientific Workers of Philosophy
I insist upon it that people finally cease confounding philosophical workers and in general scientific men, with philosophers. It may be necessary for the education of the real philosopher, that he himself should have once stood upon all those steps on which his servants remain standing. This task itself demands something else, it requires him to create values. The Philosopher must make whatever has happened hitherto conspicuous, conceivable, intelligible, and manageable. To shorten everything long, even time itself, and to subjugate the entire past is an immense and wonderful task.
