The Witchcroft Trials in the Duchy of Lorraine
The duchy of lorraine is notable for the scale of its witchcraft. Over about 50 years, i think probably half the villages in the duchy never had a witchcraft trial at all. They do manage to put perhaps two thousand people to death as witches over roughly the 50 years of the major persecution. But when you start working out the actual percentage of people who are tried, it's not so high. And somming, they do have about an 80 % conviction and execution rate, so that's pretty high.
