The Noble Savage of Rusell
Brian asked about the innate goodness of man in civil religion where do you see this? i wanted to talk about the noble savage sure because this is a rusellian ideas that man stripped of civilization society cultural influences in itself is good. A christian should be able to say without blushing man is good and maybe you were like wait a second totally the private i thought the whole thing was totally private well think about it like this when we say as Calvinist that men are totally depraved we don't mean that the creation nature of man as man is depraved We actually believe that thecreation nature of humankind is a good thing in fact a very good thing.
