Nelson was given a slip by a french admiral, ville neuve out of toulon in southern france. He managed to slide through the balliaric islands, past ebeter and minorchand all the other it's so complicated i am not even going to try and talk i tho. But that battle saved britain from invasion. Because villmerve, after the sort of bloody nose he received slightly indecisive battle, decided to retreat to spain, lick his wounds and wait for reinforcements. This was not the battle of annihilation the brits wanted, but it was a battle that stopped this big, combined fleet arriving in the channel. So spare a thought
