Do You See China as a Friendly, Countervailing Force to American and European Influence?

The Chinese government comes in with lots of strings attached that are pretty well hidden. They come into countries that have tremendous need for infrastructure, for investment and they get things done really fast. But then it turns out that you're pretty heavily indebted to China and then all of a sudden, they own one of your ports or one of your mines and off you go. The US offers far better terms, but they talk and they talk about these good terms, but it takes forever with the Americans.
