What's the Role of Industrial Farming in Eating Animals?

In a non industrial farming context, you can't hide the fact that it is an animal. There are various ways we dissociate that meat in our plate from the animal that provided it. A greater degree of ampathy evoked by a sort of pig on a spit roast with its head still attached compared to a highly processed burgar or chicken nugget. We typically treat food animals as being less intelligent, less emotionally sensitive than wild animals.
