Gilgamesh and the Ferryman
Gilgamesh was the only man on earth to survive the flood, but he would never see Utnapishtim again. The ferryman took him across the waters of death in an ancient Mesopotamian speedboat. Gilgamesh had tried asking politely for mortality, but he met with a hard no. In the way that literally every human is truly doomed,Utnapish Tim couldn't help him find everlasting life. This was at the end of his journey and it wasn't very pretty.
