Pythagoras and the Alhambra
The Alhambra is a European building and in many ways its architecture belongs to the same classical tradition as the Parthenon. All three buildings work with interplay between interior and exterior that so impress the young Le Corbusier. In the court of the lions, water courses run from the lion fountain to the stone pools within the surrounding pavilions. The men who design the Alhambra were as storage as Lesung has recently put it, architects of water.
