How Do You Transform Sound Into Light?

This is a connection between sound and light. The basic idea is to take a small container of water, get a bubble to form in that container, and then shake that bubble using sound waves. And when it collapses, you get this bright flash of light that comes out of the bubble. It's really kind of dramatic.
