Scaldic Poems - Are They Written During the Viking Age?
Saga and poems are mostly written down in the late 12th century and then 13th century. Most scholars believe that the poetry is so complex and it has so many metrical rules that you can't really break them. But with these poems that are called Scaldic poems, people use them as sources that get us at least closer to the Viking Age than most other written sources.
