Zhang Jue Zhang: The Long Ching Emperor

Zhang Jue Zhang reigned from 1572 to 1620. He started off good, but as we will see in the latter part of his reign, he completely removed himself from the day-to-day affairs of government at a time when a strong leader was critical for the survival of the dynasty. Despite being an able administrator, there of course were plenty of factions within the Imperial Court who were lined up against the chancellor.
