I think there's always going to be that conflict between the two. I was seven years old, 1941 in occupied France,. France occupied by the Germans and they were beginning the, you know, the measures against Jews. And so the Jews were supposed to wear a star, dated a yellow star, dated, and there was a curfew for Jews. So I put my sweater inside out and walked home and then near home in a place I still remember.
