The Savoy Hotel in London in the 1920s

The Savoy is the first purpose-built deluxe hotel in London. Fred Astaire, Talilah Bankhead, Cecil Beaton and Coco Chanel all stayed there. Noel Coward, Dame Nellie Malba and Anna Pavlova were among those to have had an account at it. The building next door was part of the Savoy Hotel when Marguerite went on holiday with her husband Ali.
