This week, central bank governor Gabriel McCluth told an Arokdis Committee that it would be concerning if recent ECB monetary policy was not being transmitted to the wider economy by Irish banks. In response, veteran consumer campaigner Brendan Burgess wrote a hard-hitting opinion piece in the Irish Times criticizing those remarks.
