The Devastation of the Civil War in Afghanistan

In 1990, the UN High Commission for Refugees estimated that more than 6 million Afghans had had to flee because of the conflict. So they estimated that about roughly 6 million Afghan refugees were living in Pakistan and Iran. And then there were further tens or hundreds of thousands of Afghans who had fled even further abroad to Europe or to North America.
