Bond and the Beatles - What's the Difference?

I know less about Bond's impacts on America than I do the Beatles. It is odd looking back, but at the same time, I kind of think it would be strange if other countries didn't like them because they are great. The interesting thing with when Bond was a success, suddenly there was this outpouring of spy films and Bond clones. And I think in 1965, there were I think there were 30 Hollywood spy films. This is the point where Hollywood sort of gave up, or not gave up, but the Westons sort of fell from favour. So these are both very British phenomena. So why did the rest of the world lap it up so eagerly, do you think?
