Are the Republicans in the House Going to Work With Democrats?
CNN's John Defterios asks: Is there a governance path that continues to think of the majority as 222 Republicans, including 20 who opposed McCarthy? He says one option McCarthy at least theoretically had was to do business with the Democrats instead of doing business with the faction that opposed him. But where we have ended up or where we seem to have ended up is just in a spot where that's even harder to do, defterios writes. The big question going forward is whether any of the more pragmatically minded Republicans in the House will start trying to make issue by issue deals with elements of the Democratic caucus, he adds.
