The Importance of Food for Refugees

Alison Omen-Lawi is the Deputy Director of Nutrition at the World Food Program. She says food is both essential for our physical health, for children's development but also so cultural and emotionally important for people. A family forced to flee their country and live in limbo for a year could produce from their luggage an unbroken tea set. I suppose it shows how necessary our domestic comforts are.
