Joe's Big Picture Solution to China's Problems
In 1954, there were two main diplomatic problems Joe and Lai had to focus on above all else. One was the aftermath and unsettled issues left over from the Korean War. The other was the Vietnam War. Ochi Min had always been a friend and ally of Joe and Lia going back to their Paris days in the 1920s. They were called Indo-China. Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam were seen as one colonial entity. This was a major concern and Joe was going to address this matter skillfully later on. For now, he saw that China's only friends were the communist countries of Europe and Asia.
