The Origins and Meanings of the Ten Commandments

The Ten Commandments don't cover all possible aspects of human life as people sometimes think they do. They are a selection of particularly salient points, some specific to ancient Israel and others universal in the ancient world. The thing is again, even internally, much more varied and comes probably from a range of different backgrounds.
