Is There a Secular Tradition Within Islam?

There's a strong secular tradition within Islam that can be drawn on to make the argument for Islam. The notion of the secular is something that because Western power was so global in scope has kind of been enshrined across the entire world. But I mean, to paraphrase Bill Clinton, there's nothing wrong with Islam that can't be fixed by what's right with Islam.
