The War on Terror - The Figure of the Traumatized Soldier
The figure of the traumatized soldier and veteran is very present to the public. Perhaps one could say from an American point of view, he is the war. The argument in attentiveness plays into both the focus on the soldier and a kind of rhetoric about civilian responsibility towards the soldier. Youattentiveness becomes another piece of this architecture of having to support troops when civilians don't even care enough to pay attention.
