Wind and solar basically compliment each other. If you had a very efficient distribution across the whole of the united states, that wind and solar could meet power needs without needing something else. There's a lot of research going on, and it is making very good progresses in energy storage. It mean solar ism going to be 90%, but it's completely reasonable for it to be 20% or more fthe supply of a zero carbon omissions electricity system.
