Is There Evidence That the Assault Weapons Ban Really Worked?

A new report on the effectiveness of an assault weapons ban says it is premature to make any decisive conclusions. A far left leaning outlet can't produce a shred of evidence that such things as assault weapons, by the way, are effective at stopping homicide and gun crime. If you're going to do something that's unconstitutional, then maybe at least push for some kind of constitutional amendment which would back it up in science.
