The History of Product Placement

The digital video recorder known as Tivo shipped its first product on March 31st, 1999. Product placement is a big time and it's definitely been stepped up since the introduction of Tivo. The trick is in a visual medium like a television or film obviously, you don't want to hit someone over the head with it too hard because then it can kind of backfire on you. When done right it works like gangbusters.
