The Duke study is a particularly troubling issue because health data is considered some of the most private and personal data that both consumers and medical care providers share. Data can allow for the manipulation of market advertising for big pharma that can give them a distinct advantage in specifically targeting ads for patients by region. One click on a spoof link could lead to worlds of credit card fraud or bad actor presence on their systems leading to wholesale data exfiltration of some of America's most vulnerable communities.
