When i was an undergraduate here in oxford, and i was reading philosophy and ancient history, the two subjects which go together. And i knew that i was going to be ordained. But of course, i didn't really have much idea of what that would involve. I heard a talk by the late great john wenham. He said we need people who love the lord and love the scripture to get out there on the front foot and explore things which have not been explored.
