Are There Other Types of Offences?
In some towns, this is a kind of a separate court. Sometimes it all happens a part the same court. But we do have other offences that are dealt with in a slightly more policing manner. These are often referred to as presentments. In these instances, you have people who are very kind of low level local officials. They're all men, but they tend to be a kind of normal residents. And these people would come to the court and they just kind of report what's been going on. Usually they're porting violence, and it's referred to in terms of a phrase,. You kno, a word we still have in policing to day. Seems a bit old fashioned
