The Trial of Animals
There's no trial of familiars in the mediaeval or early modern period. The witch trials were a theological framework for accusation, an explanation for divine acts. There is lots of information about shape-shifting dogs and cats during Matthew hopkins' reign. But there are no animals prosecuted at this time.
