The Performance Gap Between Windows and Linux Games
Wine Mono is a replacement for Microsoft.net. We package that with Proton. And then there's a couple of compatibility libraries that we wrote for translating between the Windows version of the Steam client and the Linux version of the steam client. That's really cool. I have only been testing Linux gaming for about a year or less even. But even in that short span of time, I have seen the performance gap between native Windows games and those games running in Linux via Proton close very significantly.
