Recon⎪THA Prosthesis Design
The Orthobullets Podcast
00:00
Introduction
Biomechanics of total hip arthroplasty depend on prosthesis design, bearing surface as well as lubrication characteristics and fixation method. The femoral component can be cemented or press fit that is un-semented. Cemented acetabular components can be polyethylene or metal. Intraoperative fracture is more likely in press fit through the lateral approach. With respect to modular stems, the distal stem and the proximal body can be quote mixed and matched.
